Ghats of Ganga are the spirit of Varanasi, There are almost 100 ghats (places with steps leading down to the water) bordering the Ganges River in Varanasi. The main group contains around 25 of them, and it extends from Assi Ghat (Next to us) in north to Raj Ghat. A highly recommended, although touristy, thing to do is take a dawn boat ride along the river starting from Assi Ghat to Manikarnika Ghat.

Dashashwamedh Ghat is known as the main ghat in Varanasi on the Ganges River. It is located close to Vishwanath Temple and is probably the most spectacular ghat. A group of priests daily in the evening at this ghat perform "Agni Pooja" (Worship to Fire) wherein a dedication is made to Lord Shiva, River Ganga (the Ganges), Surya (Sun), Agni (Fire), and the whole universe.
